Q: WHERE DOES YOUR ARTIST’S NAME COME FROM?
A: Takehiko (Inoue) is the name of a japanese mangaka, autor of Slam Dunk and Vagabond.
I have adopted my name in 1998 as nickname on Napster, then it was my nick on all my accounts on web, hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc. And when I started to make graphic art works, it became my artist name for video and visual stuffs aswell.
I don’t read manga anymore since 2000, but the name will continue. Tho recently I have stopped to self-promote and publish my artist name in the gigs, and i more often use my real name when I found some new people, but it is still on my website: www.takehiko.it All my online accounts and the 1000 VJs i meet in last 10 years continue to call me takehiko.
Q: WHAT DISCRIBES YOUR VJING STYLE THE BEST?
A: graphic, full of colours, mixed media, evolving patterns and dirt.
Q: LOCATION/ACT YOU EVER WANT TO DO VISUALS AT/FOR AND WHY?
A: a 360° projection/ledwall all around people, a big black cube room or a circular arena,
an infinite poplar grove with a led stripe on each trunk with an atomic strobe on the top, the deepest fog you ever seen and some thousands of proximity sensors to generate something that changes while people walk in.
